The Tajik State Service of Veterinary Control has banned imports of non-Halal meat products.
From now on, only accredited foreign suppliers will be able to import meat products to Tajikistan. Before issuing such accreditation, Tajik experts will personally visit facilities abroad and check the quality and safety of the products. In addition, the products must have the Halal label.
It should be noted that the majority of the population of Tajikistan are Muslims who consume halal products and do not use meat products that are slaughtered not according to the canons of Islam. Also Tajikistan has become the 26th in the world halal tourism rating. In the quality category of halal products, according to the version of the Global Muslim Travel Index, which CrescentRating together with MasterCard makes annually, Tajikistan scored 69.5 points, overtaking Russia (61 points), Turkmenistan (9 points).
